My choreography is storytelling.

I use movement to go layers deeper into the play.  Choreography sets the tone, environment, and gives the audience a window into both the characters’ relationships and inner life.  My process is collaborative, as I believe a cast that devises movement together can transform into an ensemble.

Through choreography I have created the famous Stonewall riot out of 8 people, showed in a prologue that a family was multicultural without saying a word, and conveyed the agony of Cain’s nine hundred  years of wandering over the course of one song.  Choreography is more than just dance steps to me, it’s a way to connect more deeply to the story.
